Paul and I had 3 nights at Anotonia's apartment in Spoleto. What a beautiful place to stay. So full of treasures and staying there gave us a sense of history and wellbeing. . We found the bed very comfortable and the rooms spacious. It was special also to sit up on the terrace in the late afternoon with a glass of wine and admire the view.We loved the village of Spoleto with its ancient narrow winding streets and found the people extremely friendly and helpful. Antonia gave us some recommendations for restaurants and we went to La Lanterna for dinner one night which was fabulous. We also discovered the travelators and used them a couple of times whe we got tired! Antonia kindly arranged for us to be picked up from the train station which was lovely. Thank you Antonia for letting us experience your beautiful home.
Thank you Wendy for your such lovely word and very happy you enjoyed and profit of my "paradise". Share your thoughts with who you deserve your suggestions. Seee you in the near future... may be 🙂
Antonia is a very hospitable and kind hostess. She did everything to make our stay as much comfortable as possible. She even left us all the ingredients and a recipe of Strangozzi alla Spoletina which we tried and they were awesome! The Antonia's house is located in Spoleto old town: it is 5 minutes walk to Piazza del Mercato and about the same time to Duomo di Spoleto. The apartment itself is on the 2d floor and there is no elevator, so be prepared to carry your bags up in the stairs. But this actually worth it because the apartment is super cozy and charming: very spacious, comfortable and has a very beautiful rooftop terrace. There is also a well equipped kitchen, so you'll find everything you need to make a make a fresh orange juice, breakfast or cook Strangozzi :). This is definitely the place where I'd like to come back again and I would happy to recommend the Antonia's apartment to anyone who'd like to enjoy the charming atmosphere of this ancient beautiful city.
thank you Anton for your review. Happy you enjoyed what I call "my paradise". It is extremely positive to share what you like most.
Hope to see you in the future.
Consigliatissima !
"Antonia's apartment is beautiful and spacious, filled with antiques, yet comfortable. It felt like we were staying in a museum, but we got to sit on the furniture! It is a short walk to a piazza where you can get anything you need. We walked amost everywhere, although there is a bus stop close by. The view from the balcony is fabulous. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic. I agree with others that this was one of the most beautiful apartments and relaxing place that I have ever stayed in Italy. We would highly recommend Antonia's apartments."We loved your apartment. It was quiet, yet close to everywhere that we wanted to see or do in Spoleto. Thank you Antonia for your extra help in arranging for our pick up at the train station, check in when I had issues with the key and for arranging for a taxi to take us back. I rated your apartment as "upscale" bacause of the beautiful antiques and extra charm and it seemed more than "confortable". We both hope to come back in the future. My husband would love it!.
Dear Anna, thank you for your marvellous words, I do really appreciate you liked my paradise. I love to share it when somebody understand the value of a real home. The house is full of love, the one I have for the entire world. I would really love to meeting you and your husband and Trout again. Take care and be happy
Voto 10+
Antonia, una sola parola; GrazieWhat Marisa like most: Tutto.
We have just concluded a 5 day stay at this charming residence located close to the center of old Spoleto. The owner was exceptional in providing all kinds of advice and information about this medieval town...the residence is fully furnished with all kind of dining and cooking utensils. We highly recommend Antonia ' s place for anyone wishing to visit Spoleto...The residence is very charming and furnished to make you feel as if you are sharing the owner' s very personal home. Everything was perfect....
This apartment is a gem located in south Spoleto. (It’s actually bigger than it appears in the photos.) It was charming and comfortable, and well equipped – we enjoyed a welcome bottle of wine! Although we didn’t meet the owner, her manager was there when we arrived and explained things to us. Our questions were promptly answered by the owner via a cell phone she provided in the apartment. Spoleto is worth several days visit by itself, but is also conveniently located to other great towns in Umbria. We didn't have a car and found the trains and buses easy to use, visiting Assisi, Spello, Foligno, Terni, and Narni. Spoleto was our favorite. Thank you, Antonia, for a wonderful stay! The apt was charming - very comfortable.
Dear Kathleen, thank you for choosing my apartment for our visit in Rome and so sorry not being able to be in Spoleto, but the reason was very important, as you know . Happy to hear you enjoyed my apartment, which is my "refuge" when I want to relax. I love it as you may understand. Spoleto is full of things to see and to enjoy, one life is not enough! Hope to meeting you in the near future.
I have just had a fantastic stay in Antonia's apartment in Spoleto. I stayed in the apartment for 3 months while working on a project and I loved it. The apartment is very large with an excellent living room and a huge bedroom. There is also a good second bedroom. It is an apartment full of character. The icing on the cake is the terrace, which has the most gorgeous views of Monteluco and the surrounding green hills. The perfect place to relax, sunbathe, have a glass of wine before going out, dine or simply contemplate the lovely surroundings. Everything seems to fall into place when you are looking at the wood clad hills or gazing at the sky from the terrace. The apartment is also in an excellent location in the centre of Spoleto. Antonia is a great hostess. She is very friendly and very keen to make sure that her guests have all the information they need. She provided me with much useful info during my stay. She was very helpful and even picked me up from the station on my arrival. Spoleto is a tremendous town, very beautiful, but not in a picture-postcardish way. It also has a lot to offer in terms of art, culture and architecture. I would recommend doing some trekking along some of the marked pathes in the forest and hills on the other side of the splendid bridge Ponte delle Torri. You cross the bridge and, once you reach the other side, it is like stepping into another world. I also recommend visiting some of the other Umbrian nearby: Trevi, Norcia Todi and Perugia are my favourites, but there are many others as well. The only thing that Spoleto lacks is some good wine bars (at least compared with other Italians towns that I have stayed in), but it makes up for this with a wealth of excellent restaurants. You really eat well in Spoleto. My absolute favourite is Il Tempio del Gusto. I highly recommend a stay in Spoleto and in Antonia's apartment. I will definitely be returning there myself at some point in the future.
I was absolutely happy having you as a guest! A real pleasure to know that a person like you enjoyed my special "home" that I love so much. Today I was there for the day, very quick visit and I could still feel the atmosphere you left inside. Thank you for the new toaster and the new coffee machine... a real Italian big coffee machine Bialetti. Your coat will be kept safely waiting for you, but more than ever I am looking forward for your book being translated into English ... your story belongs in a small part to Spoleto too 🙂 Thank you for your exhaustive words, I do really appreciate and will miss your presence around. Looking forward for your next time.
